How much caffeine is in the product?
A cup of our mushroom coffee contains about 48mg of caffeine, less than half the amount that’s in a regular cup of coffee. To sustain energy naturally and get rid of the jitters, we look to Cordyceps, not caffeine.
Are there any additives or sweeteners?
Absolutely none.
Can you consume while pregnant or breastfeeding?
While it is perfectly safe to consume our product during pregnancy or while breastfeeding, we always recommend consulting with your physician before repeated use.
When is the best time to consume Ryze?
We may be biased because we like to drink RYZE all day long. However, we recommend it first thing in the morning to get your energy levels up, your focus turned ON, and your happiness at an all time high. It’s the perfect way to start the day. It also works amazing as an afternoon-pick-me-up. Not at all harsh like coffee, its calm energy takes you smoothly right into the evening hours.
Does mushroom coffee contain coffee?
Yes! Our shade-grown, organic arabica coffee is grown in Mexico. After carefully roasting and brewing the beans, our coffee is spray-dried into a pure instant powder before being added to our formula. It yields just 48mg of caffeine per cup of RYZE.
Where do you ship?
We currently ship domestically in the US only. We are working on expanding our shipping options as soon as possible to offer RYZE to mushroom coffee fans worldwide.
Where is it made?
Our company is based in Boston, MA, but our organic mushrooms are sustainably grown in California. The other ingredients are sourced from the best suppliers in the country, being thoroughly tested for mycotoxins and heavy metals. We ship from our warehouse in Texas straight to your front door.
What are the differences between mushroom coffee and regular coffee?

With less than half the amount of caffeine in normal coffee, mushroom coffee offers a plethora of health benefits like calmer, sharper focus, no jitters, sustained energy without the crash, immune support, gut health and a calm digestive tract. In addition, functional mushrooms offer benefits to optimize body and brain function due to them being antioxidants, anti-virals, and anti-microbials.
Are functional mushrooms the same as magic mushrooms? Will they make me trip?
While we think the mushrooms in our blend are perfectly magical due to their health benefits, no they are not psychedelic or magic mushrooms and they will not make you trip. With over 10,000 species of mushrooms out there, medicinal (or functional mushrooms) are distinct from magic and have absolutely no psychedelic effects whatsoever.
Are you certified gluten-free? Vegan?
We are currently working on getting certified gluten free and vegan but we can absolutely assure you that all of our ingredients are gluten free and vegan.
Are you organic?
Yes, all of our ingredients are 100% organic.
How should I use it?
RYZE is a ready to drink beverage. Stir it into 8-10 oz. of hot water or use a mini-frother to make it extra foamy and frothy! Nut and non-dairy milks blend very nicely for an even creamier texture (although it’s plenty creamy already due to the MCT). Add natural sweeteners to taste.
Do you offer a whole bean option?
Yes! We have our Think Organic Coffee, Ground Whole Bean which is a big hit :). We hope you enjoy! 🍄

That is a great question! We understand that the functional mushroom world is like the wild wild west. We have tried our hardest to make it as simple as possible for you!

How many mushrooms can I take in a day? Can I combine mushrooms?
We strongly encourage you to work with a qualified health care professional whenever making changes to your supplementation protocol, and especially if you’re someone with specific health-related needs or concerns.
When you are totally new to consuming our products or functional mushrooms and adaptogens in general, we suggest that you start with one serving per day. Every Four Sigmatic product contains a potent dose of functional ingredients with a minimum of 500 mg/serving. After a few days, you can start building your routine with up to 3-4 servings per day. The functional mushrooms and adaptogens we use are safe to take long-term but the amount needed daily is slightly different for everyone. Feel free to pair products together to increase flavor or benefits. Mixing and matching is encouraged! Always listen to your body and increase or decrease dosage as you see fit.
Functional foods are one part of a balanced wellness routine. Don’t forget to continue to address the other aspects of your wellbeing like sleep, movement, and mental health! True wellbeing takes time. Be gentle with yourself, go slow, always listen to your body, and support your foundation from many angles like healthy eating, better-for-you habits, exercise, and supporting your mental health in ways that feel best for you.

How much caffeine do the products contain?
Most of our Organic Coffee, Grounds provide a full serving of caffeine (~150mg per 12oz cup). However, we have a few that are a touch different caffeine levels!
-Boost Organic Coffee, Ground has ~190mg per 12oz cup).
-Think Organic Coffee, Cold Brew Ground has ~105-125mg per 8oz cup
–Balance Organic Half Caf Coffee, Ground has about ~75mg per 12oz cup
–Organic Coffee Pods have a caffeine content comparable to other ground coffee pods at 75-85mg per pod
–Organic Coffee, Instants all contain 50mg of caffeine per serving
–Think Matcha Latte Box contains 20mg/serving.
–Calm Organic Cacao & Calm Organic Boost contain ~6mg/serving.
–Calm Decaf Ground Coffee contains <5 mg/serving.
All other products will be free of caffeine 🙂
Can I take these products while pregnant or nursing?
We recommend that you consult your healthcare professional before consuming any Four Sigmatic products if you are pregnant or nursing.
During pregnancy/nursing it is important to use caution and listen to your body when consuming strong natural herbs and mushrooms. This is the case when using any of the Four Sigmatic products. Unfortunately, we cannot give any specific recommendations about which products to take.
Do your coffee products contain real coffee?
Yes! All of the Organic Coffees contain 100% Arabica or Honduran coffee, along with functional mushrooms and other supporting herbs and adaptogens. The caffeine content for each coffee will differ depending on the coffee form though (ground, instant, or pods)! Enjoy
What is the difference between the Organic Coffees and Organic Elixirs?
Our Organic Elixirs contain a high dose of extracted, organic mushrooms combined with herbs and adaptogens. They do not contain coffee and are free of caffeine. Each box of Mushroom Elixir contains 20 individual packets and each serving contains 1,500mg of mushrooms.
Our Organic Coffees contain organic 100% Arabica or Honduran coffee with extracted mushrooms and adaptogens in each serving. Each box of our Organic Coffee, Instants contains 10 individual packets of instant coffee with 50mg of caffeine per serving. Our 12oz bags of organic coffee come with 16 servings and for most, a full serving of caffeine (aside from our Calm Organic Coffee and our Balance Organic Coffee). Our Organic Coffee, Pods come with 24 individual pods and 75-85mg of caffeine per pod depending on type. They are compatible with Keurig® 2.0 and up.
How do I prepare your Organic Coffees?
We have our recommendations below on how to prepare the coffees, but you can also experiment at home to find what works best for you!
HOT COFFEE: Mix 4 tbsp coffee with 12fl. oz. hot water in a drip coffee maker, French Press, or pour over (yields 1 cup).
COLD BREW: Mix 4 tbsp coffee with 12fl. oz. cold water and refrigerate for 2 days before straining (yields 1 cup).
ELEVATE: Add in non-dairy milk, coconut oil, or cinnamon :).
What is an Organic Elixir?
Our Organic Elixirs are a loose powder that contain a potent dose (1,500mg per serving) of extracted, organic mushrooms combined with herbs. They do not contain coffee and are free of caffeine.
Elixirs can be simply added to hot water to make a mushroom tea or to any other hot/warm beverage. They can also be mixed into a smoothie, or used in cooking and baking.
